Feb.07 -- During British Prime Minister Theresa May’s visit to China last week, the UK government announced a new Her Majesty's Trade Commissioner for China, the first of nine such roles across the world, designed to lead the British trade agenda in the region as the UK exits the EU. New appointment Richard Burn, speaking in his first interview under the new title, told Bloomberg News’ Emma O’Brien in an exclusive that he is ready to help the UK strike a trade deal with China right after Brexit and of his concern on the spillover effects of a potential US-China trade war.
