VOA Connect: Children of Islamic State

"I was nine years old when I was with them. Now I am 12 years old. They used to show us videos on how to fight and carry out suicide bombings."
In 2015, Islamic State declared a new branch, Wilayat e Khorasan or Islamic State Khorasan – ISK. ISK recruited from existing extremist groups, including the Taliban and al Qaida. They also recruited children.

VOA's new weekly program VOAConnect brings together stories of people across the United States and around the world, from a virtual reality brain surgeon ushering in a new age of medicine to a Vietnam War vet connecting to the daughter he never knew. It's a place to meet street artists and high tech innovators, and everyone in between.
